Faith Church Holds Candlelight Service

Faith Community Church Special Christmas Services

Faith Community Church in Barre, Vermont, celebrated the Christmas season with a Candlelight Christmas Eve service and a Children’s Christmas musical on Christmas morning.

The standing room only crowd of 300 gathered on Christmas Eve to enjoy singing Christmas carols, hearing special music by talented singers, and being touched by scriptures readings that lead worshippers through the five candles of the Advent Wreath. One first time visitor said “This was the most special service I have ever attended.” In addition to the traditional scriptures that are often read at Christmas time, scriptures from John 3 were read as the Gospel was presented.

The following day, on Christmas morning, the children of the church presented a Christmas musical entitled “Birthday of a King.” The program, planned by Jenna Richardson and Susan Stone, co-leaders of the Children’s Ministry, involved children in the telling, singing and acting out of the Christmas story. A large crowd attending the program, including many extended family members that do not normally come to church.
