Two GMBA Churches, Capstone Baptist Church, N. Bennington, VT and Faith Community Church, Barre, VT are moving forward in relief efforts to West Virginia and North Carolina.
Capstone Baptist Church has been involved in Disaster Relief efforts with our convention partner the BCNE in West Virginia and has sent teams to help in the continuing work that needs to be done. Many people and families’ lives have been displaced by the flooding that occurred in June. The work is not just in rebuilding homes and churches but also in bringing the Gospel of Christ into the lives of people who need the Hope that doesn’t fail. They also have planned two more trips to the area, December 26th to January 3rd and in April.
Ed Lucas is coordinating the efforts of Capstone and would like to open the opportunity for serving alongside the folks from Capstone to the churches and church plants of the GMBA. If you or your church is interested Ed can be reached by email, firstname.lastname@example.org
Faith Community Church is now making plans to go and work with the Relief Efforts in North Carolina following the devastation from hurricane Matthew and now the Wild Fires in the state. FCC’s pastor Chris Autry and his wife are from NC and have many contacts with our friends and partners in the state. Chris is willing to coordinate with churches and church members from the GMBA who would like to go and serve with a team or form a team. Pastor Chris can be reached by email, email@example.com Our NC Partnership Coordinator’s Steve & Nellene Carter who are now home in NC will also be involved in identifying areas needing assistance and making connections.
Over the years North Carolina has been an incredible partner with Vermont. They have sent thousands of volunteers to work alongside of our churches and church plants and have invested untold amounts of money into the work here. It is time for the churches of the GMBA to return the love and strengthen the bonds of our relationship by going to serve and share our mutual love for Christ.
Many churches in the GMBA are not be able to form a full Relief Team but could send one or more folks to join with those from other GMBA churches to help relieve the needs of others and share the hope of Christ and the gospel. You don’t have to be young, strong, skilled or a spiritual giant to serve. All you need is to love the Lord and want to give of yourself for the Kingdom of God.
Remember, “Together We Are Better!”
