Ed is a graduate of Multnomah Bible College and has done graduate studies at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He spent many years ministering in New York state, the Pacific Northwest (Oregon & Washington), and Massachusetts. For a number of years he served as an itinerant preacher in both New Hampshire and Vermont.
East Peacham Baptist Church is in one of the most Picturesque villages of Vermont constituted in February of 1983 with 25 charter members. The church while still small in number, enjoys a warm, caring, family atmosphere. Reaching out locally and beyond is important for EPBC. With the help of dedicated brothers and sisters called to lend a hand to smaller churches, and the desire to serve on the mission field by some of our own, we are striving to reach out to our local communities and to the lost beyond our borders.
EAST PEACHAM BAPTIST CHURCH EXISTS: TO glorify God (Matthew 22:37-39; Rom. 15:5-7; 1 Cor. 6:19-20; 1 Cor. 10:31; Col. 1:9-10; Col. 3:17); TO partner with Him to evangelize a hurting, lost, and dying world with the gospel of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, beginning here in Peacham, VT and extending around the world (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-48; John 20:21; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:14-17; 2 Timothy 2:1-2); AND TO disciple believers (Matt. 28:18-20; John 17:17; 2 Timothy 4:1-2).
OUR FOCUS IS: UPWARD: Our number one focus is on worshiping our awesome Triune God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) in spirit and truth (Jn. 4:23-24) through prayer (Acts 2:42), singing praise (Col. 3:16), celebrating the Lord’s Supper (Acts 2:42; 1 Cor. 11:23-26), and studying the Scriptures (2 Tim. 2:15). We seek to bring glory, honor, and praise to Him, both in corporate settings and in daily life (Rom. 12:1; Ps. 95:1-7; Eph. 5:15-21).
INWARD: Our focus is also on teaching and preaching God’s inerrant, infallible, and authoritative word, the Bible, with relevant application in order to equip believers for godly living and effective ministry (2 Tim. 3:16-17). We seek to build up the Body of Christ, the Church (Eph. 4:11-16) through application of Scripture to our Christian lives, both personally and corporately. We also seek to build up the Body of Christ through fellowship (Heb. 10:25), encouragement (Heb. 10:25), prayer (Eph. 6:18), accountability (Gal. 6:1-5), discipline (Matt. 18:15-17), benevolence (Rom. 12:13; 1 Jn. 3:17), hospitality (Rom. 12:13; 1 Pet. 4:9), and ministering to one another through our spiritual gifts (Rom. 12:6-8; 1 Cor. 12:4-7; Eph. 4:11-16; 1 Pet. 4:10-11).
OUTWARD: Our focus, finally, is on fulfilling Jesus’ Great Commission, beginning here in Peacham, VT and extending around the world (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-48; John 20:21; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:14-17; 2 Timothy 2:1-2). We seek to reach a hurting, lost, and dying world with the gospel of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ (1 Cor. 15:3-4; 2 Cor. 5:18-20
WE COMMIT OURSELVES: TO the Bible as the only source of absolute truth. It is God’s inerrant, infallible, and authoritative word (2 Tim. 3:16-17).
TO loving all people in everything we do by showing care, concern, and respect without compromising the truth (Matt. 22:37-39; Jn. 15:12-13; Lk. 6:32-36.
TO excellence in all things because all things done by God’s people are a reflection of Him (Phil. 1:9-10).
TO holy living (Ps. 15:1-5; 1 Pet. 1:15-16; 2 Pet. 3:11, 14).
TO unity, knowing that a unified body is a strong body (Rom. 15:5-6; Phil. 2:1-11).
TO teamwork, knowing that the participation of every member is vital to the effectiveness and success of the church (Eph. 4:15-16)
