About the Pastor
Chris Poluikis comes to Vermont out of a deep love and obedience to the Lord. With a history of management experience spanning 20 years, Chris resigned from his position in 2000 with an international company to pursue an education in Biblical Studies with the purpose of serving in full-time ministry. Chris immediately came to Wallingford upon graduation from Liberty University, Suma Cum Laude in 2003. Chris is excited about partnering with other believers to spread the Good News throughout Vermont and the world. A roll-up-your-sleeves attitude permeates everything Chris does from preparing sermons, to church cleaning, to working VBS. Chris is a very involved pastor who enjoys local HS sports and hunting and fishing with the other men at church. Chris is married and has two grown children and one well-loved grandson. FBC is the oldest functioning Baptist church in Vermont, having been started in 1780. It is a very mission minded congregation having produced a number of missionaries and full-time ministry workers over the years. The congregation is blessed with a diverse age group ranging from under one-year-old to senior saints, with everyone active and excited about the ministry of the church. Located in the beautiful Green Mountains, First Baptist combines the comfort and hospitality of the small New England country village with the love and commitment of the early believers for a unique church family experience.
