Below are listed some special needs of the association. If the Lord leads you to support one of these special needs, just send your gift to the GMBA office and write the name of the need on the memo line.

1. Cards to encourage pastors and missionaries in Vermont

Needed:

50 birthday cards

200 thank you cards

75 blank note cards

2. 300 Gospel tracts designed for TEENS
(We currently have a large supply of adult and children's tracts, so we only need ones designed for teens.)

3. Books to help pastors build a strong library:

40 copies of “Systematic Theology” by Wayne Grudem for pastors training program

40 copies of “Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary” by Trent C. Butler

(While we appreciate everyone's generosity in sending used books to us, please only send copies of the ones requested, as we have no where to store copies of other books.)

4. 50 ten dollar McDonald's gift cards to use in our teen mentoring program

5. 200 ten dollar Quizno gift cards to give to the homeless

 

6. Church Development Fund
Our association has set a goal of raising $60,000 during 2008 for our church development fund. This is a fund that is invested at the Baptist Foundation of New England for the ongoing development of our Green Mountain Baptist churches. Gifts in memory or honor of loved ones will be acknowledge in our association newsletter. Send your gift to the GMBA and put "Church Development Fund" on the memo line.
UPDATE: As of April 25, 2008 - We have raised $5,550 so far!


7. New Life Community Church, Northfield VT

This new mission is currently holding a home Bible study and hopes to launch Sunday morning worship services on Easter 2009. If you would like to help get this new church started, prayerfully consider meeting one of the needs listed.

Monthly needs:

• $400 a month to rent a space ($100 a week)

• $200 a month to pay for a newspaper ad

• $200 a month for travel expense back and forth to Northfield

• $100 a month for literature, Bible study materials, tracts, etc.

• $100 a month for miscellaneous expenses

Resource Needs:

• $1200 for a Video Projector

• $1000 for a Sound System

• A gift of any size to help with advertising costs (Web site, mail, newspaper, etc.)

• New King James (NKJV) or Holman Christian Standard (HCSB) Bibles, including LARGE PRINT versions.

• Children's Bibles and Bible story books

• Gospel Tracts (Your Life a New Beginning) $7.50 for 50

• Arts and Crafts Supplies for Children's Ministry (crayons, markers, stickers, construction

paper, etc.)

8. Equine Therapy Ministry:

We need 8 scholarships ($100 each) to send 8 girls from difficult homes who are all unchurched to a Christian equine therapy program here in Central VT later this spring. Most have been abused in one way or another. These girls were able to join this program during the summer but when the funding ended, the program came to a close. The therapist has agreed to volunteer her time if we can raise the funds to pay the stable and insurance fees in the spring. Send a gift to the GMBA, 624 Higuera Road, Barre VT 05641 and mark it "Equine Therapy Ministry"

9. Annual Borders Mission Offering
Named in honor of Merwyn and Linda Borders, the first associational missionaries for the SBC in Vermont.
Our goal this year is: $5000

This year the offering will support the following special projects:
40% will be used for a church plant in the Shelburne area
40% will be used to help meet emergency needs of pastors
20% will be used to support our Church Development Fund

10. Faith Community Church, Barre, VT
Furniture and other equipment for the teen room - $500 (they have 30-35 teens coming each week, most of whom come from non-church families)


11. North Bennington Project
Help us restore and reopen the Old Stone Church in North Bennington. This is our most ambitious project ever.

Kitchen remodeling: $2,000
Elevator: $16,000
Exterior stone work: $4,000
Landscaping: $2000

Steeple Restoration: $35,000


12. Burger King gift cards for our soup kitchen in Barre

13. East Randolph Baptist Church Parking Lot Expansion
Need: $10,000 to help this village church increase the size of their parking lot


REVOLVING LOAN FUND -GIFTS TO THIS FUND ARE USED TO MAKE ZERO INTEREST LOANS TO ASSOCIATION CHURCHES. WHEN THE LOAN IS PAID BACK, THE MONEY IS LOANED OUT AGAIN AND KEEPS HELPING CHURCHES PERMANENTLY.
