1 Chittenden County: Burlington, S. Burlington, Winooski, Colchester, Williston, Essex Junction, Shelburne

Pray for spiritual strongholds to be broken down
Pray for campus ministers to be found to reach area colleges
Pray for an effective strategy to reach this county where 20% of the state's population lives
Pray for John Heath and Doug Parker as they try to reach the many college campuses in this area
Pray for a University Church to be started near the UVM campus

2 Restoration Baptist Church, Burlington Dave Russell, pastor (wife, Donna)

Pray for physical health for Pastor Dave and Donna
Pray for more lay leadership for the church to emerge
Pray for financial needs of the church
Pray for the street ministry the church has had for several years

3 New Covenant Baptist Church, South Burlington

Praise God that Pastor Mike can now serve the church full time since he is retired.
Pray for the church as it reaches out to people who have had difficult lives.
Praise God for the new families He has brought to the church in recent months

4 Daybreak Community Church Robby Pitt (wife, Kim); Brent Devenney (wife, Lori)

Praise the Lord that the church was able to lease an excellant space in a local mall.
Pray for the church as they consider planting three new churches in 2007.

5 Student Ministry, John Heath (wife S,ue) ) andDoug Parker (wife, Carol)

Pray for John as he travels around the state to start campus ministries
Pray for the hard hearts of college administrators to be softened towards John's efforts
Pray for Doug Parker as he works at UVM

6 Northeast Kingdom: Caledonia County, Essex County, Orleans County
Glenn Hatch (wife, Wendy) Northeast Ministry Coordinator

There are many small villages and towns in "the Kingdom" in which the village church has been closed for years. Glenn continues to have inquiries from such churches asking for a pastor to open the church again. Pray that God would provide bi-vocational ministers so that these churches might be opened again.
Pray especially for doors that the Lord seems to be opening in the Wells River regional area. Pray that personnel and finances would be available to meet the needs that are surfacing.
Pray for stamina and wisdom for Pastor Glenn and Wendy to know how to spend their time most wisely. (see day 7)

7 Concord Community Church, Concord

Pray for the church as they seek to buy a parsonage.
Pray for the church as they look for a new pastor
Pray for the church as they try to find a way to put running water in their 150 year old building.

8 So. Wheelock Baptist Church, So. Wheelock; Sheffield Federated Church, Sheffield
Tim Pittman (wife, Linda)

The Sheffield Church has been experiencing solid growth. Praise the Lord!.
There is real need for Mission Service Core volunteer to come help serve both churches in the area of children's ministry. Pray God would raise up such a person.
Pray for Pastor Tim and Little Timmy's health.

9 East Peacham Baptist Church, East Peacham

Pray for committed leadership, especially for Sunday School.
Pray for Cliff and Beveryly Hatch as they lead this church.

10 Macedonia Baptist Church, Plainfield Bob Butler (wife, Margie)

Plainfield has many spiritual strongholds that will only be broken down in prayer. Pray for protection for the Butlers and for all who follow Christ in this town.

Working full time and pastoring the church in this needy community is a stressful challenge. Pray for Bob and Margie and their two boys as they try to be faithful servants of Jesus.

Pray for the Sunday School to grow and reach children in the community.

11 Resurrection Baptist Church, Montpelier

Montpelier is the state capitol of Vermont, and has a strong post-modern value system, with much New Age and pagan influence. Pray for victory in the spiritual warfare that is constantly being waged.
Pray for several new families to add to the leadership core in this fellowship.
Pray for Shannon and Susan Holmes as they lead this congregation.

12 Barre Baptist Fellowship, Barre John Tracy (wife, Joanne)

Thank God for His faithfulness as all needs for the soup kitchen continue to be supplied. It is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Continue to pray for strength and stamina for Pastor John and Joanne.

13 Prayer Focus: Towns & Villages Northern Vermont towns and villages that need a Baptist witness (see day 6):

Chittenden County: Milton, Grand Isle, St. Albans

Lamoille County: Stowe, Morrisville

Orleans County: Orleans, Barton, Newport

14 Washington Baptist Church, Washington

Pray for the television ministry to grow and expand.

Pray for the youth ministry to grow.

Pray for Jim and Georgia Herod as they lead this ministry.

Pray for Dewey and Kathie Aiken as they serve as church strengtheners alongside of Pastor Herod.

15 East Randolph Baptist Church, East Randolph Marty Bascom (wife, Julie)

Pray for Marty and Julie as they lead this small congregation.

Pray for the church as it seeks to reach students at a near by college.

Pray that three new couples would become a part of this fellowship.

16 The Baptist Fellowship, Randolph George Sweet

Praise God for His continued blessing! The church continues to experience good growth. Friends and neighbors of church members are beginning to attend after months and sometimes years of cultivation. Pray that God would continue to draw these people to faith in Christ.

17 Grace Baptist Church, Middlebury, Bob Henley (wife, Linda)

Bob and Linda have been ministering in Middlebury for over a decade bi-vocationally. Pray for continued stamina and strength in the unique ministry God has given them here.

Middlebury is a very liberal college town. Pray for the church as they stand for truth in a needy area.

Bob and Linda have had foster children in their home for years. Pray for wisdom and steadfastness for them in this ministry.

Pray for new families to join so that this church may grow.

18 Prayer Focus: Towns & Villages   Central Vermont towns and villages that need a Baptist witness:

Washington County: Northfield, Waterbury, Warren/Waitsfield

Addison County: Vergennes

19 Trinity Baptist Church, Hanover, NH    Ken Hale (wife, Sandy)

Trinity, like Grace (day 17), is located in a very typical college town where Dartmouth College is located. Pray for wisdom and steadfastness for the church in their witness as they stand for the truth.

Sandy also serves as the Baptist Campus Minister for Dartmouth. Pray that finances can be found for continued support for her college ministry.

Pray for two or three solid families to complement the number of students who attend to add leadership and financial support.

20 Gaysville Community Church, Gaysville   (no pastor)

Pray that they would catch God's vision for their fellowship.

The Sunday School continues to grow slowly but steadily. Pray that God would continue to bring children (and their families) to learn God's word.

21 Precision Valley Baptist Church, Springfield Harold Stanfill, interim pastor, wife Donna

    Pray for Pastor Harold Stanfill, as he leads this congregation.


22 Reformed Bible Church, Rutland (Clarendon Springs)

A team of elders leads this church: Hugh Diggins, Sr., Ted Freeman, and John Beaulieu. Pray for these elders as they seek unity and oneness in leading this church to reach the Greater Rutland area.

The Rutland area is the second largest population area in the state. Pray for the effectiveness and outreach of this church in this crucial area.

This church has raised up several lay men who are able to fill pulpits across the association. These man are a real blessing to the association, pray that they will be used by the churches and strengthen our work across Vermont.


23 Northshire Baptist Fellowship, Manchester Center

Pray for Warren and Betty Treichler as they lead this congregation, with the help of several capable deacons.

24 Prayer Focus: Towns & Villages: We have no churches in these northern counties:
Franklin County, key town, St. Albans; Lamoille County: key town, Stowe; Orleans County: key town, Newport

A town in Orleans County, Hardwick, is a place with strong pagan and occult influences. Pray for spiritual strongholds to be broken down.

Pray for workers and resources for the harvest. Pray that God would show us where He is working in these counties and towns so that we could join Him.

26 Prayer Focus: Towns & Villages Southern Vermont towns and villages that need a Baptist witness:

Windsor County: Woodstock, White River Junction.

27 Prayer Focus: Associational Missionary Rev. Terry W. Dorsett

Pray for a small churches around Vermont that Terry hopes to bring into the association so they can become stronger churches.

God is opening doors for many more laborers in the harvest in Vermont.

Pray for Terry to has wisdom as he seeks to raises funds for Vermont and pray that he will have the wisdom to use those funds wisely.

28 Prayer Focus: Associational Missionary Karen Dorsett

Karen (Kay) home schools her three children. She also assists Terry in his ministry and is the Sunday School director for her church. Pray she may juggle all these responsibilities with the proper balance.
Pray for Kay as they works with pastor's wives across the association.
Pray for Kay as she uses her gift of hospitality to bless pastors and their families.

29 Prayer Focus: Spiritual Strongholds Vermont is full of New Age and satanic activity.

Pray for the Light of the World to shine in the darkness.
Pray that God would "push back the enemy and trample down the adversary."
Pray for spiritual strongholds to be torn down. Pray that Jesus, who is the Truth, would be revealed and that Satan could no longer bind people with a lie.

30 Prayer Focus: Laborers in the Harvest

Most of our new starts in the future will need bi-vocational pastors. Pray that God would call men with marketable skills to ministry in Vermont.

Pray that our association could recognize, call forth and train lay ministers to pastor churches.

Pray for fruitful partnerships between Green Mountain Association and other associations and churches that would assist us in joining God where He is at work and seeing people come to Christ.

Pray fervently for a bi-vocational pastor for the Concord Community Church. (see day 7)

31 Prayer Focus: Prayerwalking Vermont

We have begun the process of preparing prayerwalking instructions for every town and village in Vermont. This will be a two year process. (Click here for more information about prayer walking and prayer mapping.)

Praise God that seven new communities were prayer mapped and prayer walked this past summer. Ask God to continue to provide volunteers to assist in this huge task.

Several teams will be coming this summer to prayerwalk new communities. Pray for their effectiveness.
