Going Away Dinner for Dewey and Kathie Aiken

On the evening of October 24, 2009 over 20 pastors, missionaries and their wives gathered at the Steak House in Berlin, VT to honor Dewey and Kathie Aiken. The Aikens have just completed seven years of ministry as missionaries in Vermont. While in Vermont they led the North Carolina - Vermont partnership which resulted in hundreds of mission teams coming to Vermont over a seven year period and doing untold numbers of projects across the state. Terry Dorsett, GMBA Director said, "Only eternity will reveal the number of souls that are now in the Kingdom of God because of the Aikens seven years of missionary service in Vermont." In addition to overseeing the partnership, they also served as managers of the Calef House and Retreat Center in Washington, VT and as church strengtheners at the Washington Baptist Church. Dewey also organized and led the GMBA Disaster Relief Team. Dewey was able to train a team of men to take over the leadership of the disaster relief team so that this vital ministry would continue after he left. The Aikens have returned to North Carolina where they will continue to be engaged in mission work.
