Churches Begin Campus Ministry in Southern Vermont

Three GMBA pastors from southern Vermont met in January with Andy Haynes about expanding campus ministry in Southern Vermont. Haynes is the College Ministry Director from the Baptist Convention of New England. The result of the meeting was the development of a strategy for four new college ministries. Lyandon Warren from Mettowee Valley Church has targeted the Green Mountain College in Pultney and Castleton State College near Rutland as places to begin ministries. Phil Steadman from Capstone Baptist Church has targeting Bennington College which is less than five miles from his church. Peter Grimes, Jerry Frey and Joe Frey from Faith Christian Fellowship Church have targeted Southern Vermont College. Joe Frey is employed as the communications director for the SVC Athletic Department and has several contacts with Christian students and staff. There are currently no organized ministries on any of these campuses. Pray for these three churches as they develop contacts and establish a Gospel witness to the students and faculty. Pray for the development of ministry teams to work on the campuses.
