GMBA Holds Semi Annual Meeting in North Bennington

The third weekend of May brought over 50 people from across Vermont to the tiny town of North Bennington for the semi annual business meeting of the Green Mountain Baptist Association. The meeting was held at Capstone Baptist Church, formerly known as the Old Stone Church. The church has been closed for many years and the building in decay when the association acquired it. A congregation formed and began to meet in a nearby school while the building was being renovated. The congregation moved into the building in January and this was the first time most of the pastors and leaders from the association had seen the completed project.
The group elected leaders, heard exciting reports of God's activities around the state and was inspired by a powerful message from Lyandon Warren, pastor of Mettowee Church. One of the more exciting parts of the meeting was the approval for the association to purchase a three building complex in Barre to house church planters and MSC missionaries. John Pellegrini moderated the meeting. Phil Steadman is pastor of the host church.
