Street Ministry Report - October 2009

Dear Green Mountain Baptists,

I have just finished my 35th year of continuous street ministry to downtown Burlington.  Restoration Baptist Church and Burlington Street Ministries have been ministering to these same streets for 26 years.

While only God knows the full impact of His ministry to the streets, He has allowed us to rejoice in seeing the following accomplished in the past 12 months:

Professions of faith - 8

Personal Evangelistic encounters - 216

Bibles given out - 1,052

Hot meals to the homeless - 917

$5 McDonald's Gift Certificates given out to those in need - 1,350

$5 Quizno Gift Cards to needy families - 868 Bags of Groceries to needy families - 1,553

One sad note, this is the first year ever, that we did not baptize anyone. But we know that the Lord is in charge of that, not us.

We have finished our outdoor street outreach for the summer and have now moved inside for the winter.

We minister on two fronts.  One is to the streets downtown Burlington, the other to Northgate apartments, a 336 apartment complex in the New North End of Burlington, with over 900 people who live here, mostly low income.  Our Church is located here, and all of our folks live here. 

We are praying for a fruitful winter ministry, and we are excited to see what God will do on the streets in 2010.
